Cask Ale (Real Ale)

This week (12/31)  we'll have a cask of espresso stout for NYE! And to help welcome 2010 (and to say goodbye to a crappy 2009!) we've tapped a couple of kegs from the Cellar - a keg of a 2.5 yr old Quinte55ence and an almost 2 yr old keg of Black Beauty.

Cheers!

Real Ale is a very traditional British way of serving beer. Unfortunately, it is quickly disappearing from the British pubs because of the amount of time, work and care involved. It's a pain-in-the-ass really. But most great things are. I love cask ale. I l-o-v-e it. That's why we do it. Find out about Thursday cask tappings: Click for more...

Big Boy Double IPA

If you love hops, I mean LOVE hops, I mean REALLY LOVE HOPS then this is the beer for you. It just explodes with hoppy goodness. It has a huge aroma of citrus and pine, huge amount of hop flavor through the middle and a long, lingering bitterness on the finish.

Flying Buttress IPA

The Flying Buttress is a Belgian-style IPA. It is very hoppy, with a big citrusy nose, the caramel malt gives it a deep red color, and the Trappist yeast imparts flavors of plumbs, berries and raisins. A great combination of two different styles of beer.

Gluten Free Beer

We make a gluten free beer for all of our guests that have a gluten allergy. Brewed from sorghum, buckwheat and a special yeast that was not cultured using barley, it is a fairly hoppy Pale Ale style gluten free beer.

Venus

Be careful. This beer is named after the Goddess of Love for a reason. It is rumored to have powerful effects on those who dare to imbibe! It is a Belgian white beer and brewed with orange peel and coriander as well as wheat, barley and a touch of oats. So try a pint and turn your lovelight on!

Golden Number Ale

A golden ale is a delicate balance of malt and hops. To achieve this perfect balance, the ratio of malt and hops in the Golden Number Ale recipe is based upon the actual golden number, the Fibonacci Sequence, or Phi as the Greeks knew it. This number’s pervasive appearance throughout nature creates a sense of balance, harmony and beauty in art, architecture, composition, space – and now beer! Some believe this number is a universal constant of design, the signature of God. (Some believe it is a perfect ratio of malt and hops.)  And for those of you playing along at home, the actual number is 1.6180339887…..
